Jim Reinach, professionally speaking...

"I truly enjoy helping other people through the process of counseling. I know that we are able to become whole, happy individuals no matter what we need to overcome, and that is the driving force behind my enthusiasm for counseling.

I am happily married and live with my wife and two Bengal cats.  I enjoy playing Go, an ancient Japanese board game somewhat like Chess, and also enjoy reading both modern and classic counseling literature."

" I entered the mental health field in 1993. I was fortunate to be at Florida Mental Health Institute in Tampa at a time when they still had the inpatient and day treatment mental health programs.  My introduction to mental health included working with all types of depression, anxiety, mania, anger, grief & loss, relationship issues, substance abuse and other addictions, and also more serious mental health problems. Shortly therafter I entered the University of South Florida in Tampa and completed my Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1996.  While at USF I had practicums and internships at St. Joseph's Hospital Psychiatric Care Center in Tampa, Access House in Tampa, and Boley Centers in St. Petersburg.  Again I worked with depression, anxiety, anger management, grief & loss, relationship issues, substance abuse and other addictions, as well as more serious mental health problems.

After receiving my Masters Degree, I worked under supervision for two years and had a rich counseling experience using various methods and styles of psychotherapy.  I worked at the Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute in New Port Richey in Emergency Services as well as being a group facilitator.  I then worked at DACCO (Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office) in Tampa for 3½ years as a counselor, a counselor supervisor, and as Director of Outpatient Services.

I became licensed in the State of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor in February, 1999 and opened my private practice in April 1999.  I left DACCO in April 2000 to pursue my main interest, individual counseling.  I have been in private practice since then and it has been a most rewarding experience.
